Print VAC

The Printmaking VAC was led by Anne-Marie Keavney, post-grad tutor at NCAD. The sessions focused on line and composition through lino block printing methods. Student teachers created a series of lino prints using the reduction print technique. They also used chin collé, a mathod of adding layers of paper to the print. The module was succesful as an intermediate introduction to lino printing, applicable to the post-primary classroom.

Visual Arts for the Classroom

VAC

The Professional Masters in Education programme deals with both the theory and practice of art, craft and design education at post-primary level. It develops the student teacher's understanding of the ways in which art, craft and design experiences can be used to promote the aesthetic, intellectual, personal and social development of young people. In year one the programme takes a studio based approach and students produce a body of visual art for the classroom (VAC). Over her two years at NCAD Andrea has completed VACs in Drawing & Painting, Print, Clay, 3D Construction, Calligraphy, Digital Media and Development Education.
