The Change Lab @ NCAD Gallery

The Change Lab showcased concerns of Development Education as part of the Professional Masters in Education teacher training programme at the NCAD, in conjunction with the aims of the Ubuntu Network. Development education is an educational process that is concerned with building a student’s knowledge, awareness and understanding of the world that they live in, and how that world is often an unequal one in terms of Human Rights and social justice (social justice is the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political, social rights, resources and opportunities). The exhibition showcased the work of five groups of PME students, developed over five days in the gallery space based on the theme of Home and Land

Artefact (solo show) @ The Ranelagh Arts Centre

The artist held her first solo show in 2011 titled 'Artefact'. The work focused again on the artists' theme of encumbering aspects of the human condition, this time through the juxtaposition of various female forms. The artists work explores boundaries within societal structures, those which are place upon us and those which we put in place for ourselves. Using mixed-media , the artist created small scale paintings in two and three dimensional formats. Acrylic, enamel, pen, ink and gold leaf on wood.

"Fit/Unfit"

The artist produced a performance/installation piece for her graduate showcase at DIT in 2009. The artwork, titled fit/unfit, was a comment on social anxieties and perceptions with reflections on eugenics and the genetic modification. The artist created an interactive experience forcing the audience to participate as test subjects and go through the examination process at the entrance to the work. A video of the experience will be uploaded here soon.
