Print VAC

The Printmaking VAC was led by Anne-Marie Keavney, post-grad tutor at NCAD. The sessions focused on line and composition through lino block printing methods. Student teachers created a series of lino prints using the reduction print technique. They also used chin collé, a mathod of adding layers of paper to the print. The module was succesful as an intermediate introduction to lino printing, applicable to the post-primary classroom.

Final VIVA set-up

All set for my final assessment this Friday. Really happy with the hard work all the students have put in. What have I learned most? Well..... that puppetry takes longer than expected. That particular scheme stretched over ten weeks and if doing it again, I would consider breaking it down into separate modelling and textiles scheme. Creating the clothing for puppets needed more attention and time, but I am still very impressed with the second year groups' efforts (14 pupils).

The scheme being presented is the mixed media painting (stamp design) scheme completed with another second year group (21 pupils). This scheme was very successful but needed more time to be completed and was confined by the schedule of school placement. In the scheme, the theme of HOME is explored through digital photography, photo-montage, and painting.
