Print VAC

The Printmaking VAC was led by Anne-Marie Keavney, post-grad tutor at NCAD. The sessions focused on line and composition through lino block printing methods. Student teachers created a series of lino prints using the reduction print technique. They also used chin collé, a mathod of adding layers of paper to the print. The module was succesful as an intermediate introduction to lino printing, applicable to the post-primary classroom.

Off the Wall- Mural work.

In September of this year I was commissioned to do two murals. One at Tolka Park Football Stadium, home of Shelbourne Football Club and one at Coláiste íde College of Further Education sports department. Designing and painting murals is something I enjoy doing. I love to paint large scale and integrate image and text. The brief from the client for the college sports department was restrictive however I enjoyed the creative freedom of the Shelbourne brief, which allowed me full creative licence to create a mural that would be inspirational and motivational to players. The final mural was completed at Stewarts Care in Palmerstown. The client was a resident and expressed an interest in aircraft. The mural was completed in he clients bedroom with the aim of creating a safe space to daydream about the outside world.
