Print VAC

The Printmaking VAC was led by Anne-Marie Keavney, post-grad tutor at NCAD. The sessions focused on line and composition through lino block printing methods. Student teachers created a series of lino prints using the reduction print technique. They also used chin collé, a mathod of adding layers of paper to the print. The module was succesful as an intermediate introduction to lino printing, applicable to the post-primary classroom.

The Excavated Figure - Peer Teaching

Today was the last session of our Peer Teaching Module as part of my Professional Masters in Art & Design Education. Each session was so informative and inspiring, and has given me lots of ideas for future scheme planning, as well as helping to prepare visual aids for the classroom. Our last session covered clay tiles design, figurative clay sculptures and packaging design. I had never sculpted a figure from clay before using subtractive techniques, but I really enjoyed the experience.
